Leggings guide - everything you need to know!
The Ultimate Leggings Guide
Buying training leggings can seem like a challenge when you start looking at all the variations available on the market. How do you know which type of fabric, fit, features, and size suit you best? However, it doesn’t have to be as difficult as you might think. In this guide, we will go through everything you need to know for your next leggings purchase. Sizes, fabric, type of training, features. Everything you might ever wonder about to make it easier for you to find your ultimate leggings.
Seamless Training Leggings
Seamless, or seamless garments, are garments that are mostly produced on a circular knitting machine and thus knitted as a tube to avoid seams in the garment. This results in soft and comfortable garments that provide great freedom of movement and feel light on the body. We have a wide range of seamless garments with different features for you to choose from.
Leggings with seams
In our leggings that are not made with seamless construction, we use high-quality fabric sewn together with stitches designed for both function and aesthetics. Essential Leggings are a good alternative if you want leggings with seams. These have good compression, are high-waisted, and feature a dense elastic fabric.
Warp Knit
Warp knit seamless is a technique within seamless production that results in very elastic, breathable, and durable garments. The technology binds the yarn tightly with parallel loops connected in a zigzag pattern. Several of our garments are produced with this technology, including Agility Leggings and Stamina Leggings.
Weft Knit
Weft knit is another production technique that differs from warp knit in that it is knitted from left to right in rows instead of the vertical warp knitting that runs up and down the garment. The advantage of weft technology is that it creates garments that are stretchy and comfortable but also insulate well and retain heat in cold environments. Most seamless garments are made with this technology.
Wool Leggings
Our Wool Knit Leggings are made from merino wool and are super soft, antistatic, and moisture-wicking. These leggings insulate well against the cold and are suitable both for a winter run and for cozy time at home.
Activities
Leggings for Running
To choose the best leggings for running, there are several things to consider. Among these, you want leggings that support the running movement, do not slip down during your run, and suit the temperature you’ll be running in. Most running leggings are sewn (not seamless) to support the typical running motion, but if you want versatile leggings that allow good movement in all directions, seamless leggings with a strong waistband that stays well on the body can also be a good option. Techna Leggings are some of our best running leggings. If you are running in the cold, our soft Softy leggings are also a great choice.
Leggings for Strength Training
The best leggings for strength training are leggings that offer good support, do not become easily see-through, and provide good freedom of movement. Make sure the leggings are high-waisted and fit well so they don’t slip down during training. Leggings like Softy leggings from Famme are suitable for this type of training.
Leggings for Yoga
The best yoga pants are often pants or leggings made of soft and stretchy fabric that provide great freedom of movement. You can choose classic yoga pants with flared legs or more fitted but soft leggings like our Softy Leggings.
Leggings for Everyday Use
We are big supporters of wearing leggings for everyday use as well. For everyday use, your needs might differ slightly from intense strength training. Among other things, you might prefer leggings that are extra flattering, have a cool design, and are comfortable to wear for long periods. For everyday use, we suggest popular options such as Ribbed Flare Pants, Scrunch Flared Leggings, and Softy Leggings.
